Ideally, you'd install the disk version before the Steam one. Don't forget to uninstall the disk version of SC4. Since I'm stuggling to find the reference for all languages. You'll know it works if you see Portuguese in game, but it may take some trial and error. The folder name is always Portgese, but the languge in this switch, may be different. Note, Portgese may not be right, I don't speak Portuguese, so don't know the spelling in that language. Add the following command to any existing ones or by itself:

Open Steam, find SC4 in the Steam library, right click it and select "Set Launch Options". Copy "Portgese" from the disk install, to your Steam install (default = C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SimCity 4 Deluxe). Look in the install folder (default = C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe), here should be a folder named "Portgese". You need to install SC4 from the old disks, you can't run it, but that's OK. Otherwise, hopefully you can follow along: We have Portuguese and Spanish speaking members at, if you need more help, please ask there and we'll do our best to assist you. If you have access to the disks, you can use the files from there, to add Portuguese to your game, but it's a bit complex and I fear explaining it in English may mean you can't follow. Similarly, the CD versions would contain many choices. Note that the GoG version of SC4, will allow you to install the Portuguese language (along with about 15 others), which Steam does not provide.

The game does have a Portuguese translation, BUT, Steam is terrible in that they rarely offer the supported languages if you buy it digitally. But the quality of releases is higher than ever and there is new content every day. LOL! Not even slightly, have you visited Simtropolis or SC4D lately? As an active modder, sure it's a bit slower these days. (The steam version doesn't have some of the offical translations)

Originalmente postado por Hulluhullumpihyypiö:This game's modding community is pretty much dead so, i think only a store brought version would have Portuguese translation.
